Sheldon was born in May of 1982. My wife Gerda went through a bad experience about 1 1/2 years before where she had surgery with complications. This made the doctors tell us we would never have any more children. We had 2 already, Aaron and Tanya but we just felt somewhat deprived at being told we could not have any more. In the spring of 1982 a bit of morning sickness (probably that pizza the night before), a bit of weight gain and soon after a doctors visit to see what was wrong. This was not expected and now was not recommended and the doctors foresaw complications developing. We thought and prayed about it. We decided that whatever the consequences we were going to see this new baby come into our lives. On May 12 Sheldon Ross Peters was born he had 10 toes and 10 fingers and looked like a perfect child. WOW what a miracle and what a blessing. As years passed we saw Sheldon grow up and hold his own with an older brother and sister. Sheldon was intelligent and so good looking. His school work came easily to him and he was a very gifted writer. Aeronautical engineering was what he studied at U of M and then he went on to a position at Kroger headquarters in Cincinnati. He was a miracle in his birth but even more of a miracle in all the lives he touched. I talked to friends and coworkers and they spoke so highly of him. I miss my son Sheldon so very much and will always see him as that miracle that came into my life.
